smallworld is based in Keighley, West Yorkshire, UK, and is a charity and a company limited by guarantee. It is working toward being a social enterprise, formed in 1999 to provide grass roots participatory arts activities to community groups and individuals.

By building a web site, we hope to get a message out to a larger audience of people interested in supporting arts activities. Support can be in any form, from members using the members zone to a person or company funding an activity, or volunteering a skill, time or resourse.

This is an example of digital art work, created as the background for a web page. During the project, painted work was photographed and converted to a digital format and in turn made into page backgrounds. Some of the images created were used on personal pages of various social networking sites.

Most people that engage with smallworld learn some new digital skills and have a chance to play with paint, pencil, crayon, photographs, clay, plastercine, felt making, story writing, music making, video, and more.
